Just a few weeks ago, we welcomed our second rescue GSD from Southeast German Shepherd Rescue.
This is Eden!
With our other rescue, Pyrrha (2 years old).
She is 6 months old, and a gem! Such a sweetheart and so very bright.
Her story: Bought by a well-off family with young kids who didn't anticipate the work that an intelligent, active GSD puppy would require; surrendered to the rescue. She was evaluated for police work initially, but failed the test for being too friendly and not having high enough drive. Which is OK with us!
After doing a little research, I'm fairly certain that she came from Misty Ridge (based on her pink papers). (I know there are strong and differing opinions on the quality of that kennel.) Obviously, every rescue is a gamble, but we think we have a real keeper here!
We're very happy with how quickly she's learning the routines of the house, and she's already setting great examples in confidence and friendliness for our other shy girl, Pyrrha.
Will be reading up on all of the threads on puppy raising! It's been a while...
