Hi there. Loki is a sable, and she's been darkening up lately. However,I noticed that in a couple spots, like right below her shoulders in a line on both sides of her back, is like silver tipped? Everything else that isn't black tipped, is the normal sable brown/red. And the spots are much too bright to be gray or white. Is this normal? It's like a ring around the base of her neck too, just very faint. Thanks for the help, guys! I'll try to get a picture, but my good camera is broken so it's just phone camera a while.
You can kinda see the difference in these pictures, compared to the head area, upper neck with below the shoulder and the end of her neck area. Sorry for the crappy photos.
She is completely purebred. Saw mommy, saw daddy, and have both AKC papers and the receipt in hand . I was looking at some darker sable pictures and saw some similarities in the coat/pattern. They appear to have the lighter coat colors as well. Thank you for responding!
Yes, very normal. My sable GSD has similar coloring in those areas. Sable pups go through a lot of changes for the first two - three years. You pup may still darken considerably.
Awesome! Thanks for your replies guys! She's my first GSD and sable pup, so I worry quite a bit!
