i'm thinking go to the Vet now to lessen the chances of any of
that happening and to check his eyes. i'm not a medical professional.
that's why i think going to the Vet is the best choice.

There is nothing the vet can do now anyways. I would just keep an eye on him and watch for unusual behavior. Glad he got it out or down.
