We have had a rescue we adopted for about a month now, an 18 month old female GSD named Leia. My fiance bought a crate off of craigslist, and after the 2nd day of using it, one of the bars ripped her paw open. So we went to our local Petsmart and bought a large Top Paw wire crate. For the first little bit she was miss Houdini and could use her paw, pop the bottom latch up, and squeeze her way out the door. I tried carabiners to hold the latches down and it seems to work, but for a few days she could still get out. Now she has broken one of the spot welds on the bottom of the crate trying to escape. What kind of crate/kennel do you recommend?? I looked at the welded aluminum crates but they are expensive unless I was looking in the wrong place. Im now looking at plastic crates, but I figured she can chew threw them. Idk what to get.
