Seriously...this dog has been "there" for me more often than I can count. I just found out my grandma passed away. Hubby was at work, and I wasn't about to go talk to his kids about it. So I was in my room trying desperately to not cry. Bullet comes up to me, stares at me with those huge "Mom...what's wrong?" eyes, so I sit on the floor and just start sobbing.
Bullet tucks his head under my chin, effectively sopping up all the tears on my face, and continues to do this until he looks up at me, pauses, and proceeds to drag his extremely wet and gross tongue across my face. He then puts his head on my chest and lets me hug on him until he turns (just a little) so my hand is resting on his belly. He then leans closer...closer...closer...and falls over so I can rub his belly.
It worked. I had to stop crying so I could laugh at him. It's amazing how animals can make even a bad situation feel better. This dog is absolutely my hero. <3
