My GSD would drive me bats if I let him wander the bedroom at night. He'd come stand by my side of the bed and put his face in mine until I woke up. He was crate trained and likes his crate, so now I just lock him in. His crate is in our bedroom. He knows his choice is either in his crate or in the back yard. He makes the choice. 75% of the time he wants his crate.
Also - you could consider ear plugs.
