We have had Lucy for about 3 years. She pretty much just lays next to us although occasionally she likes to play with her squirrel toy. She's not happy and generally very calm. She has gotten along with other small dogs, but through my observances, she is more of a loner. She doesn't mind the presence of other animals so long as they don't bother her too much. She doesn't try to sit when Snickers goes to smell her. As a matter of fact, she does the opposite and lifts her leg. Snickers has only had 1 owner whom we know very well (my husband's cousin). She was treated as a part of their family and her boys adored her. She is well behaved and very loving. She is higher energy than Lucy so we tend to her needs to keep her stimulated and exercised. Lucy does seem to be more dominant and when she tires of Snickers will show her teeth and Snickers backs off and goes to lay down. This is what I have observed thus far. How can I put Snickers higher up in the pack than Lucy (I think that is very good advice but have never dealt with this breed and need to learn)?
