An Update for the members who remember me and helped me
I joined this site years ago and posted a LOT of threads and questions. I want to say thank you to the members who posted in those threads and helped me understand dogs and german shepherds better. I also want to say thank you to the members on here who helped me with other non dog topics. Thank you and I hope you are still active here. By the way, I see this forum has over 200 people online right now. What an achievement for any forum!
The last time I was active here, I was two classes away from applying and getting into a two year dental hygiene program. Something bad happened to me that has something to do with my mental illness and now I am back home.
Fortunately, there is a 4 year university a few miles away from home. So now I am commuting back and forth in pursuit of my first degree, a bachelor's degree. After I earn my bachelor's, I will apply to the state's dental school and some schools out of state.
My midterm grades were 2 As and 2 Bs. My GPA is a 3.55 and I will need to pull it and my grades up and finish this semester strong. I am only 2 years away from my first degree. A lot of my community college classes transferred so just a little bit more.
I am also currently a part of a honor society, the predental club, and plan on joining the karate club next semester. I am also shadowing dentists and doing volunteer activities.
I still get bullied, but I made a few adjustments this week. I am able to handle it better, but some days I have bad days and some days are good.
I am not able to study the way I want to. I try to study 7 hours a day, 6 days a week but after 2-3 hours I am just so tired. I think it's my medicine, it's hard to get up in the morning and I can sleep for 10 hours and want more.
I know I've switched careers a lot. I went from veterinarian, to nutritionist, to dental hygiene, to dentists. I keep in that it's common for college students to change their minds, but it's time to knuckle down. I could do all 4 of them, but I choose dentist and plan to stick with it this time.
Last but not least, my mother will be finishing in December. She will earn a MSW.
Things are decent, they're neither good or bad. I try to stay positive and be happy.
