So when Ammo was a puppy I had the hardest time getting him to speak. He never barked, not at dogs or strangers or anything. Last month he turned one and seems to have found his voice. I don't mind that he has become more vocal, in some ways it's great. I love that he has a bark that could make a full grown man wet himself.
I do have one concern though. Today he barked at my neighbor when she came up to pet him. She has pet him before and he has never shown any type of aggression, not sure this was aggression, toward people. I was across the yard from him but told him to hush and then walked over. She did walk up and pet him with no problem other than the barking. It was a very aggressive sounding bark but that was the only sign of aggression he showed. Should I be worried that he reacted that way toward her? He also barked at her husband who talks and pets him all the time.
I don't know why he acted like this. I'm not sure if he was just frustrated because he was on his tie out or if there was something more to the bark. Last week we had people come over. They were strangers who he had never seen and he was fine with them coming into the house. Only noise was his whining because no one was petting him. Anyone have any idea why he would bark like this at people he knows?
