So I'm a proud mama
Well...step-mama, to be exact.
Here's the "back story" on my boy.
Hubby's dog, Bullet was supposed to be a police dog. He was in training for some bite-work, but ended up getting hurt in a non-related incident. This was before I was here. Daddy was devastated that his investment wouldn't be a working K9.
The kids taught Bullet how to chase rocks...not bad guys (after being told that Bullet was going to be a K9, and to not play with him...kids, right?) so now he goes nuts and digs up rocks and carries around the biggest one he can fit in his mouth. (choking hazard, anyone?)
Fast forward a bit...
Since I've been a proud step-mama of the crazy 4-year old GSD, I've worked him and have him following (my) commands. I can get him to jump over our hitching post (with a small step for "help") and boy, can that boy stretch! I have him climbing up on top of hay bales to search for his toys, and now Daddy wants to train him for drug work.
So it looks like the "retired" K9 might actually get to work, after all!
