Occasional vomiting--but otherwise thriving--confused/concerned
So, I'm going to make an appointment with the vet . . . but Ranger has been going through a more frequent vomiting act the last couple weeks. He's 11 months old and otherwise basically thriving--about 90lbs and generally just a happy camper. He had pexy done earlier in the summer as a precautionary measure. And we have been trying TOTW lately (the southwest formula with beef) to replace RC--which we have always mixed with Authority chicken & rice by 2:1 (so 1 part Authority for 2 parts of the other). Now . . . he's done this ever since he was a small pup, but he's done this more the last couple weeks it seems.
Basically, he seems to have a gag thing going on every now and then. Sometimes once or twice a day. You hear him sort of heaving (almost like a hiccup in reverse) and then up it comes--usually just a pile of his kibble in neat chunks. No blood, no colored fluid that I have seen. Almost just like he has a weird reflux thing happening that gets his motor running. But he'll run around and play all day as if there isn't a care in the world . . . then at some point you hear "herp, herp, blaaaaah" and then he's off again happy as a clam like nothing happened.
I guess I'm not sure what to think and it's our first GSD. Maybe it's the food and the TOTW is making him throw up more than the RC did? Or maybe he's suddenly not liking the Authority? Or maybe he just has a "thing" for tossing his cookies like my daughter did for years til she grew out of it?
Any thoughts/ideas/etc? Anyone else have this? He's not lethargic, moody, or anything like that. Just an occasional hurl and seemingly normal.
