I take the puppy out and once he goes potty I praise him and we go inside right away. Sometimes I just open the door and let him out and I watch him and once he goes potty I open the door, praise him and he comes back in so he knows that he needs to potty outside in order for me to use my silly voice on him.
I think that potty training and teaching them their name take priority over learning tricks so no need to rush.
I actually started teaching my puppy "sit" 2 weeks ago and he caught on quickly, then I started teaching him "shake" shortly after and I screwed him up! Now he always gives me his paw! So I stopped training and will start teaching him to lay down instead and then slowly introduce 1 trick at a time so that I don't confuse him.
I always want them to grow up quicker because I hate the potty training stage and the constant supervision stage but now I look at Draco and I want him to stop growing up! He's my little baby! My cuddle bug.
