Why does this happen?
So I have my two pups and my cat farm. All is well, normally. The pups have started doing something very annoying and I'm afraid it will turn dangerous. Whenever someone tries to pick up a cat the pups go after it. The pups mostly ignore the cats. There may be a little chase here and there but they have never tried to hurt any of my kitties. This is different. They act like they want to kill any cat that is picked up. Even the ones that they are buddies with. I have a feeling this is going to turn deadly if we don't correct it. At the very least, a person is going to get hurt because when they go for it, they really GO for it.
By the way, I noticed this behavior at the dog park once so I know there is a reason it happens. In that instance, a lady took a small dog into the big dog area. She got uncomfortable and picked her dog up to leave. I felt terrible for her as all the big dogs then surrounded her. Luckily she was near the fence and was able to hand her dog over to someone.
Can someone tell me what this is all about and what we can do to stop it. Also, they both know "leave it" but this is one time they will not pay attention to me. Thanks!
