my poor cat
First post for me. so want to say thank you to everyone for the awesome forum, great helpful topics in here.
My problem is my 10 week GSD x Husky has decided that my cat is a chew toy.
usually wouldnt bother me, as my cat likes a good play with my other dog (14 yr old japanese spitz x king charles)
unfortunately for my cat. My GSD (Ziva) goes for the throat. every time.
To make it worse. it is relentless. she obviously plays 24x7. which is an annoyance but not a problem. But the moment my cat strolls into the house, any time day or night, and EVERY time, the little land shark comes bounding up to him, bowls him over and holds him down.
As far as i can tell, she is not intending to harm him. she is playing as there is no force to the bites, no growling. but with sharp teeth and the general strength of a GSD over a cat, i fear the worst when i am asleep or at work.
there has not been a single moment that she has not gone for the cat. every single time she sees him it is "ON" !!!!
I hate to "smack" my puppy, or physically discipline her, but it has gotten to that point and further. Now she does not react to the nose tap at all. she is relentless and does not stop, regardless of the nose tap, or butt smack.
i am desperatefor some thoughts on this. as i said, i hate to hit her (much emphasis on not hard, just enough to put her off) but this is no longer working and it requires a "stronger"tap. again, i am not beating her.
please help me to stop the land shark making a feline chew toy
