Fat content queation???
One of my girls was sick last nite. She ouked her entir stomach contents and they were clear. She has been uninterested in food since Wed, but that is hard to really tell because she will steal her sisters food if we are not watching closely. Anyway this morning she was still not her chipper active, Bull In A China Shop self so I took her to the Vet first thing. The vet did a fecal and said it had a trace of blood and during the exam she showed some tenderness in her belly. They gave her a shot to help stop the vomiting and an antibiotic for her stomach critters. The vet said this is common in shepherds and if it persists that I should reduce the fats in her diet. The vet used some ominous sounding scientific name for what she believes she has. If she isn't back to normal by Monday they want me to bring her back for another look. Anybody recall the name of the common ailment and why the fat would make a difference? Her current food is 18% fat and 26% protein. Any ideas what else I can do to make her more comfortable and not have flair ups later on??? I feel so helpless when one of my girls are sick, I hate it.....
