Xrays and Laxity
Hi, I took my GSD to the vet yesterday because of concerns of the way my dog was walking. I got his diagnosis in an email and here it is:
"As discussed with Dr. Kopp, there is no radiographic evidence of laxity or hip dysplasia, or DJD in these radiographs at this time. However, based on the physical exam - an easily repeatable positive ortoloni sign in both hips (especially the left), Gunner has excessive hip joint laxity. The "bunny hopping" you described him as having, the scuffing of his rear feet and abnormal wear on the tops of the toe nails of the rear feet and rear limb gait abnormality (he points his left foot out, then pivots the toes inward as he is putting weight on the foot) suggest that he is painful and beginning to show early signs of Hip Dysplasia."
He says in two years, i'm going to have serious problems with this pup.
What are your thoughts???
