Creating the sweetest monster
I have no idea if this is a good thing or bad thing: Kaiser gets in to stuff he shouldn't but instead of hiding and enjoying his prize he comes trotting to me to show what he found. The other dogs hide upstairs whenever they steal something.
Whenever Kaiser has something he shouldn't I'll use a treat to get him to give it up. We basically trade. My thinking is that it would be easier to get things away from him when he shouldn't have it. For instance, lately he's decided my daughter's shoes are interesting.
I guess it worked. Positive reinforcement appears to work. Sometimes too blasted well. Kaiser loves paper towels. He constantly takes them and then tears them apart. I think he also eats some of them too. So today I trade him for the paper towel. I take it along with some other stuff to the trash cans in the garage. when I get back in to my office, Kaiser stuffs his head in my trash can pulls out this piece of junk mail and comes trotting over to me and sits. I'm like "are you kidding me?" and he's like "no, I'd like another treat please."
Now he is bringing me shoes, I'm trading with him by tossing his ball for him. I know I'm a bad person for throwing the ball inside but what am I supposed to do?
