My GSD is a female and is old, she is extremely smart and I trained her to do a lot of stuff. She loves learning but I'm running out of things to teach her. Lately she has been acting up, for example, when I tell her to sit she won't look at me and refuses to sit. When I walk her without the leash she will leave my side (which is unlike her) and will wander away. I try to call her back yet she doesn't respond. This all started when I slowed down the learning new tricks. She is hyper for her age (8 years). I was thinking, maybe I can't train her new things but I can give her an activity to release that excess energy. I hear GSD's do very well when their given tasks to do. I work with her a lot on tracking scents but this doesn't seem to be enough. I take her for many walks daily but this doesn't seem to help either. Is there a job I could have her do (keep in mind, she is eight years old) lol. Thanks!
