Capone brought up a good point too. Go to the schutzhund trainers first because basic puppy obedience isn't calling for the same thing. They teach similar obedience things but the techniques and the specificity of the action are way different in sports vs normal dog obedience. If you go to a puppy class then turn around and do schutzhund training I can almost guarantee you will have to retrain your puppy on how to sit stand or down.
That's bogus. I've ALWAYS done puppy OB classes outside of any sort of protection or sport work, and I've never had a problem getting any
regular obedience behavior that would be asked in Sch.
If anything, if you go to trainer or group that is more OB (sport) focused, they tend to be stricter. I've walked the BH routine and I've walked the CD routine... guess which ones less forgiving.
