ok, 8 week old and puppy is oxymoron.
Your puppy doesn't know what hit him. In the litter they tumble and nip and tussle and once in a while mom weighs in.
I've never had an 8 week old walk on a lead... imagine someone putting a noose around a toddlers neck and pulling.
They do not have hands... but mouths catch things.
You will be nipped etc... but this pup has not yet learned to act like human beings think they should.
Be patient and take it very slow. This little guy has been jerked from the warm chaotic world of the litter to being alone in an alien environment.
Take this baby out and run - he will follow. Be the most fun being he has ever known and you will win devotion. Don't coerce, lead. Don't correct, reward for good conduct.
He's a tiny baby and need to be protected and led.
Relax. He will love you.
Nothing is as simple as it seems or as complicated as we make it~
