She's not actually a husky but is Malamute and GSD far as I am aware. My previous roommates had her before I moved in. I'm from michigan, but finally decided to move out of my parents January 2013, moved all the way to Florida with myself. When I first moved in, she was pregnant and 4 days later, she had 6 puppies. She had bit my hand after a few days of having the puppies, and I wasn't the first person she had bit.
Sadly, all of the puppies had passed away as I believe that she was so malnourished that she was not producing milk. I think this was rather hard on her.
Throughout the months of me living there, my roommates would lock her in the florida-room for days, some days without food. She'd poop in there then have to sleep there. It was disgusting.
I started working with her and would make sure she was always fed, and I'd make sure she was able to go outside very often throughout the day. Her behavior was still very hidden. Was obvious it was hard for her to trust anyone.
I was barely getting enough hours at work, and my rent was only $200/month, but I still had trouble paying it, so I got behind a month, and the roommates started getting pissed at me, and I at them because I could barely have any food in the fridge without others eating it.
Things were looking up, as I found a job that'd keep me busy 40 hours a week + making 50% more than I was previously. I moved in with a guy I found on craigslist that had a husky, and he would be gone majority of the time so he needed someone to also look after his dog. I was able to move in with him, and take Baby Girl with me! (previous owners named her this, so I kept it)
She still has some behavioral problems, she's no longer scared of people, but she still is very aggressive and intentionally starts fights at the dog park. I take her to visit her previous owners, and the 2 dogs there annoy her and lick her face/crotch. She'll crawl under the table in the corner to try and hide from them. When I take her to the dog park, she'll charge other dogs and try to start fights. When I have her on her leash, she'll walk up to them and put her head right next to theirs, with no fear, and wait for them to flinch then start a fight (she doesn't seem to like dogs that show fear) If the dog just ignores the normal "dog behavior standards" and is very hyper, she's okay with them? (like the dogs at previous roommates' house, they're hyper and act annoying, so she just ignores it and doesn't find them as a threat??)
Anyways, I'd really appreciate some input in what would improve her behavior around other dogs. Here's some pictures:
Picture when previous roommates still owned her (note she's only 2 years old):
(Notice how the husky [Right] is darker than her)
Here she is today!
