Cruz just turned 9 months. This whole time we have trained him to stay off the furniture. Well he has had a rough month or so and has been acting up really bad. He just can't seem to leave anyone alone. Constant nipping, nudging, more nipping ect. Well I decided for some reason that now would be a good time for him to get the idea that when we're on the couch or recliner, it is relax time and not play time.
So here we are. I set down on the couch. He lines me up for a nip and I pat the couch cushion for him to come up and lay beside me. He looks at me and can't quite figure out what I want and if I want him there or not. He at this point is fighting what he's been told not to do for the first 9 months of his life. I can see it in his eyes. So instead, he goes buck wild. Finally comes back and we work on it again. Pat the couch, he then can't figure out how to get on the couch! He plops his front legs on there and goes at digging inbetween the cushions with his nose. 10 minutes later, he is all the way on the couch and on top of me on the couch! Well, I thought to myself I had never had a dog that just didn't get it when it comes to getting on the couch. Jeeez. Something else we get to work on. He finally settled down and we watched tv together for about five minutes until he heard a noise and he was off to do his job. Good pooch.....if only for five minutes!
