Should I be worried?
Well Hans had his first Vet appointment. While in the room I noticed the Doc was listening to his heart for an unusually long time (probably 3-4 minutes). A little worried at this point I asked the Vet if something was wrong and she stated that she was hearing a very slight and faint heart murmur (She said it was a Grade 1).
My question is: Should I be worried at this point. The Vet said that it is not too uncommon for Puppies to have a slight Heart Murmur and that most grow out of it by the time they are 4-5 months old. While doing a little research online and on the forum I found several examples of the Murmur becoming worse over time. The Vet didn't put any restrictions on Hans but now I'm worried to exercise him too much. I'm probably over thinking this a little but I just lost a young dog a couple of weeks ago due to similar circumstances. I have a health guarantee with the Breeder for two years but I think I will wait for the results of the follow-up appointment to contact them.
Hans also has a bacterial/yeast infection in both ears. All in all it was not a good Vet visit. Due back in three weeks to follow-up on Murmur. It's going to be a long three weeks.
