Max is 5 1/2 months old. He has had diarrhea since we got him which was at 10 weeks old. He has been under a vets care this whole time. We have tried rx meds, hypoallergenic food, and a rx powder that you sprinkle on the food. We are now going to try a rice and chicken diet per the vets advice. The vet is consulting with a gastro specialist. We have done the blood test for epi. He has been tested for parasites. I have a vet bill over $1000 already.
In the mornings his stool is formed but still a little soft. By the end of the day it is diarrhea. He is completely healthy otherwise. He is gaining weight as he should be.
I need to know the proportion of chicken to rice and how much i should feed. He is eating twice a day. No one is home in the middle of the day to feed him so it has to be twice. At the beginning I was feeding him 3 times a day so I know that is not what is causing this. He currently weighs 53 pounds. So how much should I feed? I forgot to ask the vet and I really don't want to abuse the cell phone number he gave me. It's his personal number. I can ask tomorrow but I'd like to start feeding him this today. And I thought somebody might have a suggestion. Thanks for any insight you may have!
