My horrible night
Hello! I just wanted to share a story that happened earlier this evening. We let Major out (we have a fenced in back yard with 4 ft chain link fence). I was getting ready to take some laundry downstairs to the basement but stopped dead in my tracks due to the most horrific sounds coming from outside in the back yard. I glanced out the back door and yelled for my husband who followed me out the door. My neighbors pit bull was locked onto Major's face and would not let go. My neighbor does not have a fenced in backyard. She was walking her dog on a retractable leash and evidentially got too close to the fence and she said that her dog lunged forward and up the fence to Major.
My husband tried to get the dog off Major but to no avail. I remembered hearing years ago that you are supposed to throw water on them so that's exactly what I did. Major had a bowl of water out on the deck and I quickly poured it in the pits face.
I've never experienced anything like this and it just really freaked me out and left me very disturbed. Major is fine! Thank God! From what I saw I can't believe he only walked away with one puncture wound on his face. Very minor in fact! I just wanted to share. It made me feel sick to my stomach!
Note: these neighbors just bought this house and moved in 2 weeks ago. They said upfront that their dogs were not very friendly ( both recent pit
rescues). I told my hubby that I want to get a privacy fence now. I can't worry about this every time Major goes out in his own yard. I already emailed 3 different companies tonight about coming out to perform a free estimate.
