The flirt pole was his favorite toy for a couple of months. He'd go sit down in front of it in the garage just begging for me to pull it out. After a few minutes of chasing it (and catching and "killing") I was guarantee a couple hours of down time. It was great for the "leave it" command and overall patience as well.
Well he no longer chases it. He studies it, anticipates it's trajectory, runs behind me and cuts it off. I can't even make a full revolution because CHASING it is not his goal, it's CATCHING it in the quickest amount of time, and he's good.
Anyone have to deal with this? He will still chase a stick, but wants nothing to do with balls. His prey drive seems good to me because if it's an animal, he wants to chase it and he kills any toy he gets his paws on.
His favorite game right now is playing keep away with my Min Pin. I'll give him a toy and the two of them will run around the yard until one of them is exhausted.
He's just so smart. I love him.
