So little big man Quax, aka MR. LANDSHARK got my arm pretty good night before last....probably could have used a few stitches but elected not to go to ER (hate needles, etc). After telling the story to my brother and my horse trainer the next day, they both stressed how important they thought it would be for me to get a tetanus shot at the very least so I went to the doctor. Doctor told me I waited too long for stitches.... yay!
She cleaned the wound, gave me a tetanus shot, prescribed antibiotics and asked for our veterinarian's info....I was worried that would happen. In fact, when my trainer asked why I didn't want to go to doctor, I voiced my concern the incident would get reported to Animal Control. I have read on the forum in other threads where puppies have had to be quarantined. Hope this does not happen to the Q-man....home quarantine does not bother me, BUT it will definitely be an issue for us should we be told he has to be quarantined at an animal facility! I do NOT want our boy away from us! He is up to date on all vaccs so I was feeling confident this was not a possibility until another friend told me yesterday that her Aunt's doggies were quarantined once out of her home. Her doggies were up to date on their vaccs as well. Anybody with similar experience? Thank you!
