Work on positive association between her and you being around the others in the pack. Whenever y'all are together, pet the other dogs (or kids, husband, strangers, ect) while you feed her small treats from your hand. It may take only a few days or a few weeks or maybe even months (depending on what she went through in her past life and how long she went through it) to achieve the results you want. But it can be done with diligence!
The only time I would accept a warning growl from Kane is if somebody or something is pestering him and he's telling them to back off before he bites or if a stranger that I'm uncomfortable around is trying to talk to me or staying near me. In both cases I would praise that growl and let him know he did the right thing by giving them/it that warning! One of the most dangerous things is a dog that has been punished for giving a warning and learned not to give it. Too likely to go straight in for a bite!
