Just wanted to tell everyone hello and that I have enjoyed reading the forums since I got my "little" Miika. She was born in June to an accidental litter in Las Vegas, and the story goes that she was purchased by a Marine for a very short period of time and then ended up in Oregon with a family whose boy wanted a GSD. They moved to Washington and decided not to keep her because of their family situation and because she was going to be difficult to keep out of trouble with the normal puppy stuff (chewing and digging) along with the size she was going to get to be. Along comes me, ready to get a puppy after losing my Rufus over 18 months earlier and that is all she wrote, haha!
It has been fun watching her color changes from week to week. I know she is twice what she was when I got her, but I still see her as little (really, she is small by the charts, but I am not concerned). She is mostly quiet but still quite bold although the cats are putting her through their training regime - it takes about a year, they are patient. She
loves little kids and will leave an adult in an instant if she spies one. She is a great traveler and has been across the state with me twice so far. And except for the fact that she hasn't figured out how to get me trained to pay attention so that I will understand when she needs to go outside to go potty, she has shown herself to be quite intelligent.
I look forward to reading what everyone has to say and getting some good information and advice as questions and situations arise.
