Nietzsche just turned 9 months old. I live in the Mojave Desert, an area where rattlesnakes are very common. My last GSD (RIP) was struck years ago, and survived. This type of training wasn't available until he was far too old for it.)
This video is of the first half of her avoidance training. (The second half was with me handling her, not recorded) She caught on SO fast, got an "A" grade!
The trainer even said "wow, all of the tracking work you've done with her has really paid off, she's got an absolutely unbelievable nose.
Funny thing is...I haven't even STARTED her tracking work yet, just a few games-that's a good WL pedigree for ya! Very, very proud of my girl! (and her nose!) By the time I got to handle her, just after this...she was even jumping on my back to make me get out of the area...we never got closer than 15 yards to a snake, even the ones let loose to slither across the grass while she was led out of the area and couldn't see it.
