Stairs for an older GSD
My GSD is 8 yrs old, and he is in great health with no signs of hip dysplasia ever. I will even try to massage or push around his hip area to see if he does anything, but it seems he just enjoys the touch.
He has been an apartment dog for pretty much his whole life. I did live in one place that had a yard for the first 2 years of his life, but other than that, it's been an apartment. Anyway, I have always made sure it was on the 1st floor, so there was no risk of injury to his hips. But now I have found a townhome that I really love, only it is on the 2nd level and has a pretty steep set of stairs to climb. (They are outside and there's no break/landing in the middle.)
So I'm wondering, would he be okay with this everyday, considering he's never had any physical problems and still acts like a puppy? Any input would be appreciated.
