Honestly I waver back and forth. I have no problem dealing with people of all ages, however I personally try and live by the code that I treat people the way I want to be treated so I try to extend courtesy to all regardless of age, sex, experience, toothpaste they prefer, etc.
Do we really need to treat minors with kid gloves? It is a public forum, so signing up they know (or should know) that it truly is the real world here, sometimes even worse because there are many people that say things behind a keyboard that they wouldn't in real life. Also, tone does get lost sometimes in text and you don't know whether they person is joking or sarcastic or serious sometimes. If they feel bullied or threatened then they can PM an Admin or Mod just the same as we can. I know I've notified on people and I haven't even been part of the conversation, it's not just the Admin or Mod's job to police us, we do have the responsibility of policing ourselves. If the Admin/Mod feels the complaint is warranted they'll deal with it
I'm not opposed to the idea of tagging them so people realize they're under 16 or 18 or whatever age is decided on. Though I don't know if it would truly help, maybe it will
Just my two cents
Edit: Also, it's pretty simple to block someone or just don't go into their threads. There's no forcing everyone to get along with every single person on the site
