I haven't really been active posting here in quite a while and reintroduced myself a couple of years ago(before tapering off into absence again due to lack of free time) but now that I'm in a more stable situation and will probably need some tips as I start at the beginning with the new dog I will probably be hanging around here a lot again. So, nice to meet everyone again!
As far as the new pooch, I'll say right off the bat I'm a sucker.
I work for a local animal control shelter(in the kennels) and this guy was picked up running on a rural highway that sees a lot of dogs dumped(many of which unfortunately become victims to logging trucks), he was a bit too thin and covered in fleas and ticks but overall seems healthy. Of course I was smitten at first sight and since he had no collar or microchip and no one came looking for him I couldn't resist giving him a shot.
I really wasn't planning on getting another dog and I think if my other two weren't seniors I'd never have considered it but so far I've been glad that I did. This brings my total pets up to 3 dogs and a cat, all getting along PERFECTLY(even with the cat!) and he's brought some great energy back into the house. He's been very easy to work with as far as training, didn't seem to know any commands at all but is picking things up fast. Don't be fooled, he's still trouble - as my recent sock thefts can prove.
I'm no good at naming anything and haven't named a single one of my pets, so put that up to my roommate and she started calling him Gunner so I guess that's going to stick(I know there's at least a couple others on the board so sorry to cause any confusion with that).
I was wondering if anyone could give a better guess on an age estimate for him? My guess is somewhere 8months to 1yr but not sure. He has all adult teeth with no tartar or staining, is at that stage where he's lanky and seems to be nothing but ears and legs, weighed 67lbs at last check(he's gained 8lbs since he was picked up, still quite lean), and he is only an inch or so shorter than my 9yr old male shepherd.

Had to include my other two, Cheyenne(~10yrs) and Sir(~9yrs). They've always been like yin and yang to each other, it's crazy to think they're getting up there in age.
And I swear they're not quite as chubby as they look in these pictures, but it's something we're working on.

And some random play pictures. The all black mystery shepherd mix is one of my roommate's dogs, Jack, who doubles as a Tasmanian Devil
Even I don't know what's going on in this one
Thanks for looking
