You have a GSD. She is supposed to alert bark.
You encourage her to bark, say "Who is that?" and then go to the door and in a very happy voice say, "Oh, it's XXXX!"
Teach your dog these people are friends.
When Hans barked, I marked the behavior with "who is it?" and when he was quiet, I marked that, too. Soon he learned what "OK, thank you!" meant. It meant, thank you for the alert, but I have this under control. It was also a message to visitors that my dog is doing his job, and that I have him under control.
