Insanity has moved in with us....
Saturday afternoon the wife comes home from a "hunting" trip at the local petsmart. She tells me she was looking at puppies but just didn't see one she was convinced needed to go home especially for a 150.00 dollar adoption fee. So I mentioned it to the lady who runs the foundation I got my current princess from and she said "Funny you should mention that" because she has a nother dog that she needs to remove from the Service dog training program. I asked her what the dogs issue is and she said fear of thunder and a terror of flashlights. We already have a 14 year old we helped get through thunder and lightning issues so we are well versed in helping a dog overcome that particular fear. She is already spayed, house broken, public access trained and nearly a completed product except that the thunder makes her unreliable. So in the interest of saving another dog from destruction and to provide a happy safe home for our first daughter we are going to add another GSD to the pack for Indi to play and romp around with and maybe spend more time in the house playing with her new sister. So yeah, we have lost our minds yet again and are looking to home another less than perfect shepherd who needs love and a permanent home to relax and live out her life with ease. When we home dogs like this we only accept large breed dogs nobody else wants with issues that we think we can help them overcome. Are we crazy, or just gluttons for punishment???
