Anyone with experience?

Old experience, not recent but had a dog that was DX with HD at 6 months for both hips. We elected to do the surgery on the worst hip and wait on the other side until she had recovered. The surgery was a mess, the first vet botched the job and left bone spurs. We wound up going to a second vet to fix the first one. It took a while for her to recover. By that time she was doing so well on the other hip we took a wait and see approach. The dog passed away at 13 without ever having another problem with the other hip, only the one she had surgery on. I learned my lesson. Always get a second opinion and I will never trust someone who tells me my dog has HD at under a year old.
