I've found that I only crate my pups when I am not home and at night.
At night the crate is beside my bed so the puppy knows I'm right there.
Puppies want to be with their pack and are genetically programed to SCREAM and tell us they are separated and to come find them. They are trying to help us and think we are a bit stupid and deaf cause they sure are LOUDLY trying to tell us something! Specially when they hear us right in the other room.
Our pups have been with/around/on their littermates their entire life then suddenly we rip them away from everything and everyone they know and may isolate them for the first time ever.
