Don't you get a dog, any dog, knowing you need to exercise it? Why are they assuming that new dog owners spend all their time on the couch? Walking a dog every day is not nearly as difficult or infuriating as, say, having a breed of dog that is practically impossible to potty train.
I think it may be more along the lines of trying to keep the active breeds out of the hands of couch potato lazy people so that's why they made sure to point it out as a negative? Does that make sense? Percocet made my brain fuzzy.
