Switching to HOMEMADE! Need help with ratios!
So I've decided to switch to homemade dog food for our big man Gunner. He is 8 months old and I cant say I've had a lot of problems with him but he definatly has irregular poops, smells often and scratches and sheds like craaazy! I'm a stay at home mother so I think this will work out great for me. I also have 3 small children so the raw diet isn't something I'm interested in.
I've read up about all the types of meats/organs allowed, occasional fruits, the best vegetables and grains but I am needing suggestions on the ratios of each.
I have decided to double cook the grains first, for digestion purposes, then add in all the other ingredients such as the meats and vegetables. I'm going to do this crockpot style and add eggs(with shells) and or cottage cheese/yogurt right before feedings, whenever necessary. I think I'll do salmon or tuna once weekly also.
Let me know what you think!! And any ideas about ratios would be great! RECIPES WELCOME!!!
