She is a little madam!
Outside of the house Bella just does not listen to me at all, only my OH. When we first got her her lead training was iffy but my Dad helped us and she was pretty good from then on, but recently she will pull me so much and I cannot pull her back as firmly as my OH can, although she walks tons better on the lead for him. In the house she listens to anything I ask of her so I'm not sure if it is my tone or mannerisms because at times she does listen, what is the best way for her to listen to me on walks? I'm using the exact same tone, I just don't have OH's strength. The issue I have is I'm designated early morning dog walker as my OH starts much earlier than I do so she really has to learn that I am the boss too.
Also, drop! Again, in the house she's perfect! The other day I practised this for 10 minutes in the front room/garden by throwing the ball for her and when I say drop throwing a few tid bits on the floor for her to find which she eats. I took her outside about 10 minutes after this session and repeated it exactly the same way and she would not drop it, at all. I just don't understand!
This is an odd one; she just will not toilet in the garden. She doesn't go in the house or anything but she'll hold it in or whine until we take her to a patch of grass about 5 minutes away? We tried standing outside with her until she literally can't hold it anymore and then making a big fuss over it but it wasn't massively effective. I took home a baggy from a walk and left it in the garden so she could smell that it's okay to go outside and she's only repeated it twice, just not sure where else to go from here?
