Can thorns cause bloody stools??? URGENT
I was feeding my male GSD pup homemade food and TOTW until due to shortage of funds I primarily used the ****ty Smart Heart dog food and some home made boiled rice and meat.
For around a week or so my pup had loose stools as the dog food didn't suit him. Then one day he had bloody stools. I took him to the vet, he charged premium, and all was fine after 5 days of consecutive injections... also had him dewormed and there were worms in the stool next day.
Its been around a month, a little less. Since then I'm mostly feeding him boiled meat and rice, Nutra Gold Puppy, and occasionally BARF. Around 3 days back he had loose stools. Yesterday morning he had semi solid stool, normal color. But when I opened him in the yard and then brought him to his cage after like 2 hours, he had some bloody stool in small quantities. This is because theres's a thorny bush which he might have nibbled on I reckon.. can that be? Because I've seen him eating leaves there before, but I stopped him.
Is that right, do thorns cause this sort of stools?
Now I'm giving him injections twice a day.
Awaiting helpful inputs soon.
