I am seriously so upset at my city right now. So let me make this as short as possible. I take maxx on 2 walks a day, one in the early morning and one in the late evening. Usually it's myself and my kids, and we walk 2 different places in my subdivision. On our morning walks we walk by this fence that houses 2 dogs. One is a lab mix and the other is a black lab. There is a hole at the bottom of the fence where it looks like there is just a piece of the pallet missing where this lab mix can fit his muzzle and his 2 front paws through it. Now he is silent all the way up until you get right in front of him and then he strikes. He is aggressive in every way ( the black lab is not) to the point where he has nipped maxx before and even nipped at my kids at one point. So to avoid him I walk in the street. Now keep in mind his fence is up against the PUBLIC sidewalk and there is a elementary kids school bus stop about 10 feet from this fence. I have seen kids and other dogs walking by this fence and you see him strike, kids scream and dogs help or bark.
Now because I am not the person to run and call animal control I contemplated going to the owners myself and asking them nicely to please fix their fence but instead yesterday I had enough and thought animal control showing up would be more effective then myself. So animal control went said they were going to go there. Fast forwarding... This morning we went for our walk and amazingly nothing had been done!! So I avoided as usual and called when I got home. And this is what I was told... That since the dog cannot FIT ALL THE WAY OUT OF THE FENCE that they did not see that big of a issue, and they gave them a written warning. Now this is the same dog the bloodied my neighbors dog and ripped my pant leg.. But you know what I came to the conclusion of? If it was a pitbull or a GSD for that matter then they would have deemed the dog aggressive and made sure that they fixed the fence in 24 hours. I'm just so annoyed! So I have decided to change my route in the mornings and avoid this dog completely and try not to worry about this dog dojng damage to someone or another dog. But when it happen ( more then It already has happened ) then maybe they see that I filed a complaint and do something about it!! But I'm not endangering my family anymore by walking in the road and even though i pay to live here and it is a public sidewalk ( oh, and a lab mix) that's not good enough I suppose
Thank you for reading my story!!
Have a good day everyone
