why do people think a dog is a picky eater if they don't like what
they're being fed? we pick out food for our dog's. where is it
established the dog has to like the food we pick for them?

Easy fix for this. I always put the food down and give them 20 minutes. If they are actively eating, I will wait, but if they show no interest the food gets picked up 20 mins after it goes down. They will not starve themselves and learn very quickly feeding time means get it while it's down, because it won't be down forever. Have had finicky eaters before but it was short lived after employing this tactic. I also mixed some wet, canned food in (I've always been a fan of Eagle Pack/Holistic Select) and that seems to make them more interested in the food. Of course, now you're paying for canned food as well (though not using a whole can each time of course...just a big spoonful to mix in and give it some texture)
