Thanks for the input. I had the same feeling about doggie daycare. In a perfect world, I want to expose her to lots of dogs and give her some interaction during the day while we're at work. But if it were a perfect world, she wouldn't have had so many negative experiences already. I have no idea how we're even going to get her to approach a group of dogs at training, but I'll talk to the trainer about that before we take her. Only 11 days left. I feel like I have a mental calender with giant red x's on it!
I know there's a lot of difference in opinion about socialization vs shots and in all honesty, I wish I had never heard of parvo because then we would have taken her out more. But knowing how serious it could be, and never having had a puppy before, we didn't want to risk it. We have taken her for twice daily walks and lots of visits to stores/strip malls where she could walk in wide areas and meet people. But no parks or grass or wooded areas where dogs are more likely to go.
She's dying to get off leash and we're dying to let her!
I just want to make sure I do it responsibly.
