I very, very rarely close at work. I work at a cafe/bakery.
Every night, our store takes all of our baked goods and donates them to the Salvation Army. Before everything is bagged and binned, we can take stuff home with us.
I had the option of taking bagels, cookies, cinnamon rolls, brownies, muffins, scones.... But nope.
I overheard the closing sandwich maker talking to the manager and they were going to throw away the chicken and turkey since the expiration date was today.
I yelled, "I'LL TAKE IT! My dog will love it!" The manager of course looked at me funny, making sure I was serious, then just said, "Okay," and laughed. (Everyone knows I'm the crazy dog person there - I sport my paw/bone necklace and my name tag is cluttered with as many dog stickers I could fit on it)!
I plan on using it as Ozzy's returning treat at the flyball tournament this weekend.
Have you done anything that made you or people around you think you might love your dog a little too much?
