occasional middle of the night destructiveness.
So Cosette has been awesome. She is now almos 9mo old, and has given me less headaches than any other dog I have ever owned.... but there is one thing she does, rarely, that keeps me a little nervous to trust her more in the house.
She has a designated sleeping area. It is an 8 foot diameter pen... but it is only about 42 inches tall. She loves the area, and wants to be in there, even when it isn't time to sleep.
However... once every other month or so she will jump over the pen in the middle of the night... climb onto the couch (which she isn't allowed to) and then proceed to choose something of my wife's to destroy. One time it was makeup... one time it was a shoe... one time it was a sandal.
I suppose I could get her a large crate for the garage or let her be an outside dog... but it would be great if I could better understand the behavior and let her have a little more freedom in the process.
My only thought is that she might be getting hungry or bored, so I try to make sure she has rawhide, deer antler, or a favorite chew toy with her. It seems to work, but this behavior is so infrequent that I am not sure if it is working or not.
Any other suggestions?
