Over the weekend we made home made mac & cheese. I generally don't eat carbs, but will make exceptions (you'd have to be a zombie to skip out on this stuff). There were left overs and I had some for breakfast. I'm in my office reading and Kaiser is sitting staring and making a mess with the drool. There was a little left and I figured 'why not?' he's been good.
He likes mac & cheese. He really likes mac & cheese. Actually to be precise: he likes whatever I'm eating.
Today I had some left over chicken for lunch. He's sitting by me making a huge fuss. You would think I starved him and deprived him given the amount of whining and crying coming out of him. Back and forth from one side to the other. Whine whine whine squeal. What a big baby!
You would think given the amount of stuff I've read and the amount of research I've invested in to training over the past few months I'd know better....not really.
Am I going to do anything about this? Not really. The only issue is that he must not actively try to take food from others. When we first got him he took a slice of pizza from my wife as she was eating it! That is a definitely 'nope, not in this house' behavior. The whining stuff...I can tolerate it by ignoring it.
The boxers already have it figured out. They know that if there is something yummy left over they'll get a taste. They just sit patiently in the background waiting. Kaiser will learn too.
