Start feeding him once a day. Never leave food in his bowl. If he doesn't eat the food in five minutes take it off him and give it to him the next day. When feeding hold the bowl above his head and wait for him to look directly into your eyes. Usually a dog will only stare at the food. Put the food down walk away.
Don't let others fed the dog for a while and see if the behavior changes. Also let your dog know your disappointed in him by keeping your distance for a while, but up the exercise especially cycling. You just leash him up and drive him good. No rubs, treats. You will see a different more respectful dog in a few weeks.
This kind of a method takes discipline from the owner but is worth while in the long run.
The dog doesn't realize you control all the resources but will if you take a course similar to what I've described. I gave a more detailed explanation of what to do with a dog showing aggression to it's owners in the other thread.
You might not agree with my suggestions but can improvise and develop your own way to deal with it. My idea of ignoring a dog and cut the food is to let him know I can control the resources and relationship not the dog. Everything comes from me. I give the dog the impression, that if the dog doesn't respect me I'll kick him out of my pack. I know that is severe but dogs understand this as they are pack animals. No other punishment actually gets to the issue of a dog disrespecting it's owner.
