Hello! I've been reading so much on this website for the past 1 1/2 years, what a great wealth of information and caring people who love the best dog ever...german shepherds!!
I am in need of advice. Here are some facts about Indy:
She is 1 1/2 years old.
She has had digestive problems for the past 13 months.
We've discovered that she is allergic to chicken and very sensitive to certain grains.
She has been eating Blue Buffalo white fish and oatmeal...loves it, and it has helped immensely with her bm's...they are now formed and brown, as opposed to yellow diarrhea!
She gets one cup of her food in the morning, 1/2 cup in a treat-ball for lunch, and 1 cup in the evening. Her morning cup gets sprinkled with a probiotic, I open the capsule and mix it in her food.
Very, very often, she has seen the vet for vomiting a frothy bile in the mornings. She feels better around lunch time. No diarrhea with this. All stools have tested normal. This happens once or twice per week.
I've started giving her pepcid every evening, along with a dog treat (large dog milk bone...does not have poultry in the ingredients)...so that her stomach is not empty for a long period of time.
She is sick right now...she has not vomited, but she's laying down and her stomach is making really loud sounds. She refused her breakfast. This is happening so often now, once or twice weekly. Does anyone have any advice of other things I can do to help her? Should I give her more food late at night so her stomach isn't empty for so long?
