Just found out our puppy Diesel tested positive for Parvo this morning. Noticed the first signs of symptoms (throwing up and diareha) last night and in to this morning.
We took him to the vet this morning, he is exhausted, however still tail waggin, standing on his own and seems to be physically okay the vet says. He will be spending the day there until about 8pm tonight. They are going to do blood work on him, see what the parvo has affected thus far, get him on IV's, antibiotics and vitamin e injections.
Poor little guy just turned 7 weeks old today.
Unfortunately, Banfield, the vet, closes at 8 and we would need to take him home and then back there again tomorrow morning and so on until he is better. Doesn't make sense with the virus being in the house now, we will keep taking him back to the virus then if that's the case...
Anyone have some advice on the best way to go from here? We never took him outside due to no vacs just yet (he has an appointment Wednesday for his vacs).
What is the best way to disenfect the house? Our clothes and blankets, etc.
Talk about stressed to the max on this situation. We are taking our other dog to get tested today
